Loving and Learning in Lodi February 16 2020

Dr. Seuss’ book, The Zax, is the shortest book of this sermon series…yet, it packs a powerful lesson for us in just a few short pages as we look for the Spirit’s ‘Ah-ha’s’!!

See you Sunday, as we listen for God’s voice…

“You have heard that it was said to those who lived long ago, Don’t commit murder and all who commit murder will be in danger of judgment. But I say to you that everyone who is angry with their brother or sister will be in danger of judgment. If they say to their brother or sister, ‘You idiot,’ they will be in danger of being condemned by the governing council. And if they say, ‘You fool,’ they will be in danger of fiery hell. Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift at the altar and go. First make things right with your brother or sister and then come back and offer your gift.”

Loving and Learning in Lodi February 9 2020

As announced on Sunday, our Bishop Tracy Malone intends to appoint the Reverend Pam Buzalka to Lodi UMC on July 1, 2020. Our Staff Parish Relations Committee met with her on Monday, January 7th. Pastor Pam’s information and picture is at the end of this email along with a list of those of us who met with her. Feel free to talk with any of them for their impressions and understandings of their meeting. Continue to lift up your prayers for us and for Pastor Pam and the congregation she serves in Akron.

We look at Horton Hears a Who this Sunday in worship. I’ve always been captivated by Horton’s support and protection of the Whos in spite of all the opposition he encountered and endured…in storybook land, he is one of my heros!
See you Sunday, as we listen for God’s voice…

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
